Reading History Essay

From kindergarten to Elementary school I loved to read. My favorite part about reading when I was little is when my teachers and older people would read to me. I would sit there and picture every sentence they read. I remember when we used to have story time. We would all gather around on the floor as our teacher read exciting books to us.

When I was in kindergarten, I had my first experience with books when I was younger. Reading books not only helped me how to read, it also helped me how to spell and write too. When I started reading, it was very hard for me to spell and write too. When I started reading it was very hard for me because I am not good at reading or spelling so it makes it hard for me to read a book and actually concentrate. When I was younger I would read a lot more than I do now.

Elementary school was one of the funniest years of reading. All the books that I read were very colorful and they had a lot of pictures. My classmates and I read a lot of different kinds of books. There we mostly read kid books like The Cat in The Hat. My favorite book that I read when I was in elementary school was Where the Wild Things Are. This was my favorite book because I liked the pictures in the book. It was also easy for me to read.

I went to Glen Landing Middle School. At that school we started to read interesting books that would make you want to keep reading. Books that had good stories to them. I usually wouldn’t read on my own time in middle school. Whenever I would read it usually would be for language class and the books that we would be reading were boring so I usually wouldn’t read them. I didn’t read that much in middle school and I regret it now. I didn’t really have any favorite authors in middle school because I didn’t read that much.
